Join us for the newly available Canadian Word Aware course led by our founder and SLP, Aoife Mc Namara. This course will take place online over 3 x 1.5 hour Twilight sessions.
Suitable for primary and secondary age.
Word Aware is a fast-paced, fun and interactive course, which will leave participants well equipped to start Word Aware in their schools or with individual students. This course is suitable for classroom teachers, resource teachers, student support workers, administrators, senior leadership, speech-language pathologists, and educational psychologists.
The aims of this course are to:
- Link vocabulary instruction with you curriculum
- Explore word learning theory
- Learn a structured approach to teaching vocabulary in the classroom
- Plan how you will support vocabulary in your school/s
The course will take place online via Zoom. Participants who complete the full course will receive accredited Word Aware certification. Course details, Zoom links and handouts will be sent via email to all registered participants.
